Stereoscopy describes the creation of the illusion of depth in an image by presenting two slightly different versions of the particular image for each eye. Therefore, two versions of the image have to be created and presented to the viewer.

In the past, this made S3D-productions very difficult and expensive and especially in the realm of 3D-content it meant that twice the amount of time was needed for rendering. If under these circumstances a change had to be made, there wasn’t only one project to be renderd again, but two – one for each eye.

Ventuz as a real-time tool for 3D-content is by nature capable of creating S3D-projects. For Ventuz it makes no difference whether you calculate your content once or twice – the time needed remains the same. Theoretically every project created with Ventuz is potentially a stereoscopic project.

Especially in the area of engineering, but also in many other industries, it is very helpful to visualize your product in a way that represents its shape and structure and gives an impression that is as close to the real thing as possible. Stereoscopy gives you the possibility to really evaluate your product as a three-dimensional object rather than just a two-dimensional picture.

Stereoscopy has been spread all over the media world for a while. More and more big movie productions are shot in S3D and theaters are filled with people wearing S3D-glasses. A Stereo-3D-display is an eye-catcher at every exhibition booth.

In the near future, S3D will be the standard way if displaying content throughout the multimedia world.

With Ventuz, you are already a part of this future!
