Ventuz 8.1 – a further improvement in real-time graphics and production

Ventuz 8.1 extends on the remarkable capabilities of Ventuz 8.0, with new features like the Stream Out Viewer for streamlined output workflows, the support for spherical interactive displays or the improved VSM shadows for more photorealistic renders. Ventuz 8.1 also extends some of the tools presented on v.8.0 with additional color management tools like output LUTs or video scopes, or the enhanced data portals functionality.

Check out the What’s New video to get a quick overview of what to expect!

STREAM OUT VIEWER

One of the main features on Ventuz 8.1 is the new Stream Out Viewer, a tool that streams the Ventuz graphics output to any system running a web browser where users can even interact with the Ventuz content. This opens the door for new and exciting workflows where a single Ventuz engine could be streaming real-time graphics to many devices running a standard web browser app.

IMPROVED SHADOWS

Shadows have been greatly improved by using the Variance Shadow Mapping (VSM) technology. This new shadow map technology offers much better-quality results, shadows edges look more realistic, and the shadow areas are less noisy. In addition, this new shadow technology has been greatly streamlined to get comparable or even better performance than the one used before.

SPHERICAL DISPLAY WORKFLOW

Ventuz now features a new set of tools and workflows to display and control Spherical Displays of all angles from Ventuz scenes, including the most common 360º and 180º spheres. Ventuz 8.1 offers several projection mapping methods like Long-Lat Maps, Flat Earth, Fisheye and a specific mode for Pufferfish and Mediascreen displays.

COLOR MANAGEMENT

Ventuz Designer preview window can now overlay a set of Video scopes such as Waveform, Histogram, Vectorscope, etc… A great tool when you need to check the quality and the color data in your source material or output graphics.

Ventuz 8.1 also supports assigning Look Up Tables (LUTS) to device outputs into the Configuration Editor. It supports the same LUT file type and formats that we introduced on Ventuz 8, like images, .cube and CLF.

CUSTOM POST PROCESSING SHADERS

Another great addition to Ventuz 8.1 is the ability to create custom Image Post Processing (IPP) Shaders that can be applied as effects on your 2D and 3D Layers or inserted as FX nodes into your Hierarchy.
