Message View
The Message View contains a log of errors or other status information reported by Ventuz. When new information is available, the message icon in the lower right of the application will show a flashing exclamation mark. Click on it to open the Message View.
The message window consists of five columns:
- The 'Navigate' column on the left side shows a magnifier icon for some messages.
- The Time column displays the time stamp of the message.
- The Level column shows the category or severity of the message (Info, Warning, Error).
- Module indicates which part of Ventuz sent this message. In case of errors this can be helpful for debugging.
- The Message column displays the message text.
To avoid cluttering, the Message View by default only shows Error messages. To change the level of filtering, right click into the Message View and adjust the Message Level.
If the magnifying glass is shown to the left of a log message, double clicking on the message will navigate to the node that issued the message if its scene is still open.
Messages shown in the Message View are also written to the designer.log file. Also the Presenter/Runtime is writing a log. See Command Line Options.
