Ventuz 8.3:
hyper-realism, fluid particles, and open workflows

Ventuz 8.3 introduces Gaussian Splat import and rendering for hyper-realistic 3D scenes, a greatly improved particle system with fluid simulation, support for the SMPTE ST 2110 standard for professional video over IP, and the official release of the Ventuz Extensions API.

Gaussian Splats

Hyper-realistic 3D scenes, built from regular photos.

Gaussian Splatting is a digital graphics technique that builds hyper-realistic 3D scenes from regular photos and is quickly becoming the industry standard for creating realistic AR/VR projects with ease. Ventuz can now import and render Gaussian Splat files (*.ply, *.spz) and combine them with other 3D elements in a coherent 3D environment.

Particles 2.0

Smarter, more accessible, and now fluid.

The real-time particle system has been greatly improved in Ventuz 8.3, with new features like the Mesh Splitter, explosions, and new forces and emitter types. Parameter behavior is now more intuitive, and updated naming makes the system more accessible to all Ventuz users.

A major addition is the new Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) solver, which lets you create smooth, fluid-like particle systems in combination with the rest of the Ventuz particle modules.

SMPTE ST 2110 support

Professional video over IP, from 10GigE up to 100GigE.

Ventuz 8.3 adds support for the SMPTE ST 2110 standard for professional video over IP workflows. We have integrated ST 2110 solutions from Deltacast, AJA Video Systems, and Blackmagic Design, ranging from 10GigE up to 100GigE and supporting the NMOS protocol for advanced discovery and routing.

Ventuz Extensions

The official release of the VX API.

Ventuz 8.3 marks the official release of one of our most anticipated features: the Ventuz Extensions (VX) API. It allows you to create your own Ventuz nodes and to build and edit Ventuz scenes programmatically. This functionality opens the door to more sophisticated workflows that combine Ventuz content with external data and even AI.

Other new features

Ventuz 8.3 has been updated to .NET 10, bringing improved security and potentially better performance in some projects. On top of that, you will find an improved Animation Editor, better handling of premultiplied alpha, Substance PBR support, enhanced support for glTF materials, and many more features and enhancements.
